N R PANICKER, Founder of Accel Limited & Mentor

A highly awarded technocrat with a star studded track record of over 30 years, N R Panicker is the visionary founder of the Accel Group of companies. He entered the IT industry as a young electronics engineer from the Government College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram and after a successful stint in HCL, he founded Accel in 1991. On growing the venture from a start-up to an MNC with full operational presence in seven countries, he guided the company through a successful IPO and later gained industry accolade with the acquisition of a majority stake of his venture by British Telecom. Ranked by DQ India as one of the Top 10 Key Influencers in the Indian IT Industry, he was also selected by the State Government and The Confederation of Indian Industry as one of the Top Ten CEO’s. Brimming with entrepreneurial drive he acquired several niche players in the IT Industry and established professional management teams across all the companies in the Group. A hands-on manager and a visionary leader, he continues to drive the Group through the crests and troughs of a dynamic industry. N R Panicker as envisioned new strategies for Accel Limited become one of the leading players in new generation IT Services, by merging the various entities in the group with itself to be named as Accel IT Services.

1. J V RAMAMURTHY, Managing Director

Mr. J V Ramamurthy brings more than 40 years of diverse industry experience and leadership. Throughout his career he has spearheaded enterprise wide initiatives that built highly differentiated business verticals with sustainable growth. He has led various transformational programs and turnarounds. His areas of expertise include Technology, Sales & Distribution, Customer Support and SI Services. In addition, Mr. Ramamurthy has been a consultative member in various Government Advisory bodies.

Mr. Ramamurthy began his career as an Aeronautical Engineer with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. at the Avionics Design Bureau. He then moved on deputation to INAS integration organization, Ministry of Defence & later to SAGEM (Safran), France. He later worked for 32 years in HCL Infosystems where he served as President and COO amongst other senior roles.

Mr. Ramamurthy was also the President of MAIT (Manufacturers’ Association of Information Technology). He has been invited to Co-Chair various committees in CII, ASSOCHAM, ELCINA etc. He is also associated with various start-ups as a Mentor.

Mr. Ramamurthy graduated from College of Engineering, Guindy in Electronics and Communication. He has done his Master’s from Madras Institute of Technology, Chromepet. He has also completed the Senior Leadership Program from Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad. He currently resides in Delhi.

 

2. S.V. RAO, Whole Time Director

Mr. S. V. Rao holds a Bachelor Degree in Engineering. He has been with Redington Group since 1995, having joined as Area Support Manager. During his 25 years of tenure with Redington India, he has handled diverse management roles and built many new business verticals. Prior to joining Redington Group he was working with Blue Star Limited as Assistant Manager.

3. K. R. CHANDRASEKARAN, Non Executive Director

A Chartered Accountant aged about 67 years, with over 40 years of experience in Engineering, Financial Services, and Information technology Services industries, he worked with large companies like , ACC-Babcock Limited , HCL Infosystems Limited, Harita Finance Limited and Accel Frontline Limited in various capacities in Finance , Credit control and Commercial .. He is a hard core finance professional and his decades of experience are in Corporate finance, Treasury, Accounting, Banking relations, Taxation, Secretarial and other legal compliances, Corporate governance, Investor relations, public issues and related compliances, and employee relations etc .

A stickler for best and ethical practices, he has been providing leadership, direction and management of the Finance function of corporates. Post retirement, he is advising large Corporates, on various aspects like M & A and post M & A integration, fund raising etc. He served on the Board of Chennai based, Accel Group Companies , both listed and unlisted, for more than 10 years and has served as a key management person for 15 years .
